BEIJING, Oct. 3— Landmarks in several countries, including Vietnam, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates and Iran, were illuminated in “Chinese red” on the evening of Oct. 1 to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
From Southeast Asia to the Middle East, major landmarks across several cities displayed China's national colors, creating a striking international scene during this year's National Day celebrations.
Ho Chi Minh City Landmark Lights Up in Chinese Red for the First Time
In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the landmark Saigon Riverside International Financial Center was illuminated in Chinese red on the evening of Oct. 1.
A video celebrating China's 77th National Day and the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam was also displayed.
It marked the first time a landmark in Vietnam had been illuminated in Chinese red for China's National Day, according to China Central Television.
The display added a distinctive Chinese element to the skyline of Vietnam's largest city as Chinese communities and visitors marked the holiday.
Burj Khalifa Displays China's National Flag
In Dubai, the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, was also illuminated in Chinese red.
On the evening of Oct. 1, an image of China's five-star red flag appeared across the 828-meter tower, followed by a China-themed light show.

The display featured images highlighting Chinese culture and development and attracted residents and international visitors, many of whom stopped to watch and take photographs.
It was also the first time that a China Media Group National Day-themed video light show was presented on the Burj Khalifa during China's National Day, according to Chinese media reports.
Two Landmarks Light Up in Baku
In Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, two major landmarks — theHeydar Aliyev Center and Baku Olympic Stadium— were illuminated with images of China's national flag.
The display took place on the evening of Oct. 1 to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan said the event reflected the traditional friendship between the two countries and conveyed holiday greetings from Azerbaijan to the Chinese people.
Tehran's Azadi Tower Joins the Celebrations
In Tehran, Iran, the iconic Azadi Tower was also illuminated with China's five-star red flag.
Chinese Ambassador to Iran Cong Peiwu attended the lighting ceremony together with representatives of the Tehran municipal government.
The display came as China and Iran mark the55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationsin 2026.
Iranian officials congratulated China on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and expressed an interest in further expanding cooperation between cities and provinces in the two countries.
One Color, Multiple Cities
From Ho Chi Minh City to Dubai, Baku and Tehran, a common image appeared across distant cities on the same evening:major landmarks illuminated in Chinese red.
The celebrations took different forms. Some landmarks displayed China's five-star red flag, while others presented China-themed videos or light shows highlighting Chinese culture and development.
Together, they formed part of a series of overseas events marking China's National Day.
Chinese embassies and missions in many countries also held National Day receptions, where political figures and representatives from various sectors extended congratulations on China's 77th anniversary and expressed interest in further cooperation with China.
Chinese Red Becomes an International National Day Scene
For Chinese citizens living abroad, seeing the familiar five-star red flag displayed on landmarks in foreign cities carries a particular significance during the National Day holiday.
For local residents and international visitors, meanwhile, the displays provide a visible window into China's national celebration and culture.
On the night of Oct. 1, landmarks thousands of kilometers apart were connected by the same color.
From one city to several countries, and from individual landmarks to multiple international skylines, Chinese red lit up the night as the world marked China's 77th National Day.
