NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 20, 2026— China delivered another major performance at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Sunday, winning the women’s 10m air rifle team gold medal while setting a new world record.

The Chinese team ofWang Zifei, Han Jiayu and 16-year-old Du Yuchenposted a combined score of1904.2 points, surpassing the previous world record of 1902 points and successfully defending the Asian Games title in the event.

The victory was China's third gold medal of the Games and added another highlight to the opening day of competition.

China Breaks Its Own World Record

China entered the competition as the defending Asian Games champion and already held the women's 10m air rifle team world record.

The previous mark of 1902 points was set by China at the 2025 Asian Shooting Championships. One year later, the Chinese trio raised the benchmark to1904.2, improving the world record by 2.2 points.

Wang Zifei led the Chinese team with636.8 points, while Han Jiayu scored 633.8 and Du Yuchen added 633.6.

Their combined performance was enough to secure the gold medal and establish a new world best.

Wang Zifei Sets Asian Qualifying Record

China's strong performance had already become apparent during the qualification round.

The result also came without Huang Yuting, one of China's most prominent young shooting stars, who was not part of the three-member team selected for the event in Nagoya.

Instead, Wang Zifei, Han Jiayu and Du Yuchen delivered the gold medal and a new world record.
