Putin: Russia Welcomes Xi-Trump Meeting and Positive U.S.-China Dialogue

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on September 25 that Russia welcomed the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as dialogue between the two countries.

Responding to questions from the media, Putin said that China and the United States are the world's two largest economies. He noted that how the two countries conduct dialogue, address their differences and ultimately reach agreements would have an impact not only on China and the United States, but also on the global economy and Russia's economy.

“We welcome dialogue between the United States and China,” Putin said, adding that Russia would welcome any agreement between the two countries that has a positive impact.

Trump described the visit and discussions as constructive and successful, and expressed his expectation of maintaining close communication with China.
